During these\nsessions 15 presentations will be given\non how the Resource Description Framework\nis changing cheminformatics.
\n\n
It is of special interest to the Blue\nObelisk community that the family of RDF\ntechnologies (RDF, OWL, SPARQL) are all\nsuccessful Open Standards, building on\nolder and other Open Standards like HTTP,\nURI, XML (or JSON or Notation3 or\nTurtle), etc.
\n\n
Moreover, these technologies are not\nrestricted to one particular domain, such\nas MDL/Symyx molfile, CML(XXX) are, as\nthis part is covered by the Web Ontology\nLanguage (OWL)… each ontology in itself\ncan be (and should ofcourse) be an Open\nStandard.
\n\n
In three sessions links to computational\nchemistry, knowledge management, and\ngeneral applications are demonstrated,\nwith wide variety of chemical disciplines\nas context, including toxicology,\nchemometrics, eScience, databases, wet\nlab experimentation, lipidomics, text\nmining, drug discovery and health care,\ngene-disease-pathway modeling, and\nchemical patents.
\n\n
All people interested in Open\nCheminformatics should have a special\ninterest in these three sessions, and I\nam very much looking forward to seeing\nyou all next Sunday and/or Monday!
\n\n
The full program can be found at:
\n\n
http://egonw.github.com/acsrdf2010/
\n\n
(please retweet and share with friends\notherwise)
\n\n
with kind regards,
\n\n
Egon Willighagen
\n
",
